Whilst working for a major construction and property group, the Central and Urban team negotiated the purchase of an existing office building on Torphichen Street in central Edinburgh and pre-let the development to the Whitbread Group for a Hub by Premier Inn hotel. The existing office building was not suitable for conversion so the building was demolished to enable development.

This was a complex development due to the proximity of underground railway lines and required careful design management. Funding was secured on a forward fund basis with a major UK institutional investor and the development was constructed by the in-house construction division.
