Conversion of a Grade II listed building to create 179 beds of student accommodation
Acquired from the Local Authority in central Lancaster, members of the Central and Urban team were responsible for all aspects of the development, whilst working for a national construction and property development company.
This included the negotiation of the purchase contract with the City Council, management of surveys to assess risk and review construction pricing, appointing and managing the multi-disciplinary design team, managing the design process, progressing and managing the planning and listed building application, securing licence agreements with neighbouring owners, negotiating the construction contract, securing an institutional funding partner and negotiation of the development funding agreement. This was a complex development involving the conversion of a Grade II listed building to create 179 beds of student accommodation with communal facilities.
