184-bedroom pre-let Premier Inn Hotel, a 250 space multi-storey pre-let car park to QPark and 31,000 sq ft of leisure accommodation

Purchase and delivery of a major and complex conversion and extension of the iconic Grade II listed former Co-op department store in central Newcastle. Whilst working for a major construction and property group, the Central and Urban team were successful in negotiating the purchase of the building, securing occupiers for the development and negotiating various AFLs.

These included a 184-bedroom Premier Inn Hotel, a 250 space multi-storey car park to QPark, The Gym Group for a basement gym and various A3 tenants at ground floor. This was a complex and major conversion of a sensitive building. The development was shortlisted in Channel 4’s Restoration of the Year TV programme and awards.
